about

“Waiting For You” was a crazy concept song. I was inspired by J. Cole’s ability to tell a story about other people’s lives, and make it feel as if you were actually the characters he mentions. The emotions that went through my mind and body were insane. I’ve always admired artist that could project emotions and feelings on to their listeners. This song was my attempt to project emotions and feelings on to my listeners as well. This is a typical cheating story, BUT with a few MAJOR twists. I had trouble with this song originally, because the beat I made for these lyrics sounded to upbeat and happy. So after your opinions and major reconsideration, I decided to make a new beat for it, and I came up with the one you hear on the project. The song showcases how a man works hard at work to provide for himself and his girlfriend only to find out that she cheated on him—even though she tells him that she was raped and that she became pregnant as a result. She later reveals that she wasn’t in fact raped but, she willingly had sex with his best friend and got pregnant. The female blamed her man for always working and never spending time with her, so she turned to cheating. I guess Karma is a real bitch because the main male character had a confession to make as well. A few months earlier, everybody was happy to hear that the main female character’s mom was pregnant after being told that she was infertile for about 5 years now. Her and her husband were proud to be having a baby boy, but what the husband didn’t know was that his wife had unprotected sex with the main male character after he took their daughter to prom that night. It just so turns out that the baby was in fact his. That’s a crazy story right? GOOD (lol). I wanted to do something different. I didn’t want it to be the traditional happy ending or bad ending. I needed to do something that NO ONE would expect, and this is what I came up with. *Go back and listen to the songs again and just think about all of this*
